The Original ESSIAC® formula only has 4 herbs: Sheep Sorrel, Indian Rhubarb root, Slippery Elm and Burdock Root. The Essiac® formula manufactured today is the same formula Nurse Rene Caisse gave all the people who came to her clinic on Dominion Street in Bracebridge, Canada until the late 1970’s. The Original ESSIAC® formula Nurse Caisse discovered 86 years ago has never changed.
Because Essiac has become so popular among consumers many 8 herb formulas have emerged in the marketplace. Keep in mind that 8 herb formulas ARE NOT the original ESSIAC® from Nurse Rene Caisse. And, no matter what these companies are telling you to sell their products they can not improve upon a proprietary formula they do not own. Nurse Caisse, Resperin. and Essiac® Canada International are the only ones to have had the rights to the original Essiac® formula throughout history. Today, the Original Essiac formula belongs to Essiac® Canada International and no one else. The Essiac® formula has remained the same for 86 years.. Other companies have added Turkey Rhubarb Root to their own versions of our formula claiming that it is part of the original formula. This is just not true!. The ESSIAC formula only uses Indian Rhubarb Root. ESSIAC® does not use Turkey Rhubarb root because it is not part of the original formula”. Indian Rhubarb Root is native to North America and is at least 5 times more expensive to buy than Turkey Rhubarb root which originated in China. It is safe to assume that In the 1920’s Nurse Caisse would not have used herbs from China she would have used herbs that grew (in abundance) in Canada. Companies selling you “cheap powdered herbs” may sell you herbs that are infested with bugs and bacteria. Some companies go as far as grinding down “bugs” at the mill, and passing them off as “quality” herbs to consumers. And if the herbs don’t look “good enough” they add TUMERIC to make them “look better”. This is why you need quality control tests so you know exactly what you are buying. Don’t settle for anything less….. If you are looking for the original ESSIAC® formula you have found it! Don’t settle for counterfeits there are no substitutes for the real thing because it is not the same formula.
